Is Volunteering for You?
If you are caring, compassionate and have a true desire to help others, becoming a Maxcare Hospice volunteer may be the perfect opportunity for you. Our volunteers share their unique attributes, and offer companionship to our patients, while easing the burden that may be felt by their family members during this difficult time.
Our priority is to ensure the quality of life for our terminally ill patients. Our caring staff’s focus is to manage symptoms, allowing for a pain free care plan, with the support of loved ones. We strive to extend the highest level of courtesy and service to patients, families, and caregivers.
Making a Difference

After training is completed, you can determine how much time to commit to your assignment, and you will define the geographic area(s) you would like to serve. Because the duties of the volunteers vary, we will help you find an opportunity that is convenient for you. Whether you dedicate as little as two hours per month, or 8 hours or more per week, all efforts are extremely appreciated!
Hospice Volunteers have continual chances to gather, mix and mingle. You may make a few lasting friends. Of course, these gatherings have instruction at their core as you learn and interact with healthcare professionals. You will be guided along each step of the way. The first two New Hospice Volunteer Orientation gatherings are focused on preparing you for your role and are required to attend:

Rewards for Caring
Your rewards for caring are just as unique and impactful as each of your patient’s visits. Your interaction is a lasting gift that they will remember the rest of their lives. For just a few moments you are the whole world to that one person. You will know that you matter and that you made a difference.
