Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back while offering comfort to others? At Maxcare Hospice, we welcome compassionate volunteers who want to be a source of kindness and connection. As a volunteer, you’ll have the unique opportunity to provide meaningful care and ease the burden of family members during the most difficult time of their lives. Your presence can bring light to someone’s day when they need it the most and offer peace to their loved ones.
As a Maxcare Hospice volunteer, you will get the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients, their families, and care team members from diverse backgrounds. These are more than just skills and personal growth–these are life-changing qualities that will take you far in life.
Not only will you be part of a compassionate community in a supportive environment, but you’ll also have the opportunity to volunteer at a hospice with a 5-Star CMS Customer Rating and a 4-Star level We Honor Veterans hospice provider.
Volunteering at hospice is a great way to experience a sense of purpose and bring the heart of our compassionate care to life.
The great thing about being a hospice volunteer is that no two days are the same. You’ll carry out different responsibilities depending on the patient and care team’s needs. Your support is deeply valued.
Our volunteers can do the following:
While our volunteers cannot provide direct physical care, your presence alone is powerful. You can offer comfort through companionship, assist caregivers with errands, accompany patients on walks, or simply sit quietly with them.
Our volunteers can also provide grief support to families in person and over the phone. While they’re not trained counselors, this kind of support can include just lending a listening ear.
Our creative volunteers will have the opportunity to provide art therapy to patients. Not only does this support healthy cognitive skills, but it also provides patients with compassion and purpose.
We’re always looking to spread public awareness of hospice through the help of our hospice volunteers. This can involve networking, helping plan events, and staffing information tables.
Volunteers can help out in our admin office by completing data entry, filing paperwork, answering phones, and providing support where needed.
