Where we come from
Our story starts with home health. In 2007, our Vietnamese American family founded 24/7 Care at Home in Westminster to care for people in their own homes. Over the years we met many families who were caring for someone at the end of life. Often they didn’t know what help was available. That experience led us to start Maxcare Hospice in 2011. Maxcare became Medicare-certified in 2012.
24/7 Care at Home and Maxcare Hospice are sister companies run by the same family. Ratings and awards belong to the company that earned them. The family behind 24/7 Care at Home runs a CMS 5-star rated home health agency that earned Pinnacle Customer Experience Awards in 2013–2015. Those honors are 24/7 Care at Home’s. Maxcare Hospice has its own public record, listed below.
What we believe
- Comfort, dignity and family. Hospice is comfort care for a person with a serious illness when the goal is no longer a cure. Nurses, aides, a social worker and a chaplain come to where the person lives, and we support the whole family.
- Care in your language. Our team speaks English and Vietnamese, including RN and LVN nurses, and we have one Korean-speaking nurse.
- Every family chooses its own hospice. Whichever provider you choose, we’re glad to answer your questions.
You can call us yourself
You don’t have to wait for a doctor or hospital to bring up hospice. Anyone who cares about the person can call us: a spouse, an adult son or daughter, a relative, a friend or a caregiver.
- Call (714) 844-7777. We listen and ask a few simple questions.
- We check eligibility and, with your OK, contact the doctor. You don’t have to make that call yourself.
- The doctor decides. Hospice requires a doctor’s order. A physician must certify that the person has a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. We work with your doctor on this step.
- You choose. The patient, or their legal decision-maker, chooses hospice and signs consent before care begins.
If your loved one doesn’t qualify yet, we’ll tell you plainly.
