What Is Hospice Care?

Hospice care is for individuals facing a terminal illness who are no longer seeking curative treatment. Instead, the focus shifts to quality of life—relieving pain, managing symptoms, and supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and their family.

Our experienced care team includes nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers. Together, we deliver care that’s compassionate, respectful, and personalized.

Four Levels of Hospice Care

We provide all four levels of hospice care to meet your loved one’s needs at every stage:

Routine Home Care – Regular visits to help with symptom management, medications, and personal care.
Continuous (Crisis) Care – Extended in-home care when symptoms become harder to manage.
General Inpatient Care – Facility-based support for complex symptoms that need round-the-clock attention.
Respite Care – Short-term inpatient care (up to five days) to give family caregivers a break.

I’d like to share my heartfelt thanks to MaxCare for the way they cared for my mom in her final four weeks. They really made her the priority, and it felt like she had so many pillars of support from the multi-disciplinary team surrounding her. Phong, our nurse, took the time to walk us through what to expect and made sure we understood each part of the process. Tien was incredibly responsive in making sure medications and supplies arrived when we needed them. Bea, the social worker, was truly a lifeline—patient, compassionate, and always willing to go the extra mile, even advocating for us with the county when we hit roadblocks. They also paid attention to details and personalized services, including arranging for a priest to come and offer Catholic blessings. After my mom passed, they sent a beautiful orchid arrangement that is still blooming—a simple but meaningful reminder of their care.

We started my sister on hospice because she wasn’t responding to us, but then she rallied the very next day and wanted to continue with dialysis so we had to stop hospice.
