What Is Hospice Care?
Hospice care is designed for patients who have a terminal illness and have chosen to stop curative treatments. The focus shifts to comfort—managing pain, controlling symptoms, and supporting emotional and spiritual needs.
At Maxcare Hospice, we tailor every care plan to the unique needs of the patient. Our team includes nurses, aides, chaplains, social workers, and trained volunteers—all working together to care for your loved one and support your family.
If your loved one lives in Los Alamitos, we can bring care to them—ensuring they remain in a setting that feels safe and familiar.
Four Levels of Hospice Care
We offer four levels of hospice care to ensure your loved one receives the right support at the right time.
- Routine Home Care
This is the most common level. Our care team visits regularly to assist with medications, personal care, symptom management, and companionship. - Continuous (Crisis) Care
If symptoms suddenly worsen, we provide extended in-home care—often overnight—to stabilize the patient and ease discomfort. - General Inpatient Care
For severe symptoms that can’t be managed at home, we offer short-term care in a facility with round-the-clock medical supervision. - Respite Care
Caregivers need rest. We offer up to five days of inpatient care so family members can recharge while their loved one receives full-time support.
When to Consider Hospice in Los Alamitos
