What Hospice Means for Your Family
Hospice is comfort-focused care for people with a serious illness when the goal shifts from cure to quality of life. Our nurses manage pain and symptoms, our aides help with personal care, and we teach family caregivers what to expect. Patients can stop hospice at any time.
Hospitals and Care Settings in Newport Beach
Patients in Newport Beach are often discharged from Hoag Hospital Newport Beach or from nearby hospitals such as Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley and UCI Health in Orange. We work with discharge planners so care at home can start without long gaps. We care for patients wherever they live: private homes, condominiums, assisted living, board-and-care homes and skilled nursing facilities.
Paying for Hospice
For most patients, hospice is covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit under Medicare Part A. A patient generally qualifies when a doctor certifies a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness follows its usual course.
Languages We Speak
Our nurses (RN/LVN), aides (CHHA), administrator and liaison speak Vietnamese, so elders and relatives can ask questions and make decisions in the language they’re most comfortable with.
