Maxcare Hospice is a family-owned, local hospice that has cared for families from our Westminster office since 2011, and our team serves Laguna Woods in south Orange County. Much of Laguna Woods is the large 55-and-over community of Laguna Woods Village, with homes and cooperatives along El Toro Road, Moulton Parkway and Santa Maria Avenue. Many residents live alone or with a spouse, and adult children often coordinate care from out of town, so we keep families updated and make the plan easy to follow.

What Hospice Means for Your Family
Hospice is comfort-focused care for people with a serious illness when the goal shifts from cure to quality of life. Our nurses manage pain and symptoms, our aides help with personal care, and we teach family caregivers what to expect. Patients can stop hospice at any time.
Hospitals and Care Settings in Laguna Woods
Patients in Laguna Woods are often discharged from nearby hospitals such as MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills and Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. We work with discharge planners and Village resident services so hospice can start at home without long gaps. When the main caregiver is an older spouse, the work can be heavy. Paying for Hospice
For most patients, hospice is covered by the Medicare Hospice Benefit under Medicare Part A. A patient generally qualifies when a doctor certifies a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness follows its usual course.
Languages We Speak
Our nurses (RN/LVN), aides (CHHA), administrator and liaison speak Vietnamese, so elders and relatives can ask questions and make decisions in the language they’re most comfortable with.
